Understanding Cyprus Regulations

Traveling to a new country often comes with questions about what you can bring with you and what regulations apply. If you’re heading to Cyprus, it’s important to be aware of the customs regulations to ensure a smooth entry. Here’s a detailed guide to Cyprus customs exemptions based on Decision No. 2009/15481.

Exemptions for Consumption Items

When entering Cyprus, certain items are exempt from duties, provided you adhere to the specified limits. Here’s a breakdown of what you can bring:

Note: You can only use your 1 kg allowance for chocolate or sugar food for one type of product.

Bringing Medications

If you need to bring medications with you, you are allowed to bring those listed in Annex-9 of the Decision for personal use. To ensure smooth entry:

  • Documentation: Provide a report from a health institution, doctor’s report, or prescription to customs.
  • Quantity: Only a reasonable amount needed for your stay is allowed.

Traveling with Pets

Traveling with pets? Here’s what you need to know:

  • Allowed Pets: Up to 2 pets (cats, dogs, or birds) or 10 aquarium fish.
  • Documentation: Pets must be accompanied by a veterinary health report, origin and vaccination certificates, and, if necessary, an identity document and veterinary check.

By understanding these customs exemptions, you can ensure a hassle-free entry into Cyprus and enjoy your stay without any unexpected surprises. Safe travels!
